Arsene Wenger has taken a somewhat different approach to Arsenal training ahead of their trip to Swansea on Saturday.

The Gunners players were all smiles as they trained by playing RUGBY, as they look to bounce back from a dismal showing at Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.

Arsenal were dumped out of the Capital One Cup after suffering a 3-0 defeat at Hillsborough, but were counting the cost on the injury table as much as their elimination from the competition.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain limped off in the early stages after pulling his hamstring, and was replaced by Theo
Walcott, who then also had to be substituted after sustaining a calf problem.

Wenger confirmed the pair would be out of action until after the international break, as his side look to keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

The Emirates boss said: “[Oxlade-Chamberalin] will be 20 days, [Walcott] a bit longer. But we have shown we can deal with injuries. You have to analyse every single case but also you can’t over-analyse. Injuries happen.

“We played a different team in midweek. We are now focused to do well at Swansea. We are on a strong run in the Premier League.

“Last year Swansea were the only team to beat us twice so it is a good challenge. We need a strong defensive performance.
