Gabriel and Diego Costa are separated by Petr Cech as they clash
Rio Ferdinand has put the knife into Diego Costa, calling the Chelsea striker “a petulant baby” after his clash with Gabriel that saw the Arsenal centre-back sent off.
Spain striker Costa first tussled with Laurent Koscielny, appearing to intentionally slap the Frenchman before get himself involved in a spat with Gabriel.
Both players were booked, but the disagreement rumbled on as the players made their way to the centre circle, with Gabriel kicking out at the striker and receiving his marching orders.
And this behaviour did not impress former England defender Ferdinand.
“Costa acts like a petulant baby,” he said on BT Sport. “If anything happens it’s like the end of the world.
“He’s a liability, a ticking time bomb. He’s a fantastic player but he has to get back to playing football.”

The red card came just before the half-time break soon had an impact on the match, as Kurt Zouma nodded the
champions ahead on 53 minutes, before Santi Cazorla also saw red following a mis-timed challenge on Cesc Fabregas.
Eden Hazard made sure of the points in injury time, when his deflected shot made it 2-0.
